Quick update: I’m launching a new initiative: Writing Workshops for Former Students! Please scroll down to read all about them.
As well as that, I’ll be running Course 1, Approaches to Creative Writing again, at Forest Hill Library. Starting on Tuesday 10 March. The course covers
Fantasy & Transformation, Imagery, Narrative Voice, Dialogue and Theme. It is my most popular course – great for beginners and those with some experience alike.
There will be an online option running on Monday evenings, 6.30pm-8.30pm, subject to getting enough students.
Students report improvements in their wellbeing as well as their writing – some have even been published, while others have finished stories they’ve been procrastinating over for a decade or more!
As a brand new initiative, I’ll be offering Workshopping Groups for Former Students. There will be a short writing warm-up and brief refreshers into, for example, writing effective dialogue or using figurative writing. Then students will share their work and get considered feedback. There will be plenty of discussion time, and I’ll be open to presenting on new topics – e.g. I recently gave a presentation on the three-act-structure for novels and spoke about my own writing practice. If you’re interested in the Workshopping Group, please get in touch directly (wellbeingwithwords@gmail.com), as we still have to decide on a venue.
So, whether you are as yet to come on a course, have already done them all, or something in between, I definitely have something for you this year, and I can’t wait to see you!
